United Airlines Holds Airbus A350-1000 Up
United Airlines Holds Airbus A350-1000 Up. The carrier has postponed its first four deliveries of Airbus A350-1000 as it continues to consider alternatives to the aircraft. The Chicago-based company says deliveries have moved "from 2018," in a quarterly profit statement today. It does not say when the A350s will be delivered.
It is still unclear if United will take the 35 A350-1000 it has to order, the first of which is due to 2019.
"It's an order that we're paying close attention to and considering different alternatives," said Andrew Levy, United's chief financial officer, in the A350 order in February. Since then he has said that the airline continues to evaluate its wide-body fleet needs.
United also moved 12 Boeing 737 Max 9 deliveries to 2019, and two Boeing 787-10 deliveries earlier that year, he says.
The carrier has orders of 61 737 Max 9s and 14 787-10s with the first of both due in 2018.
United continues to expect its first 100 737 Max 10s in 2020, he says.
The united administration will present its second quarter earnings and discuss fleet changes on July 19.
